Rabbi Jonah Pesner will deliver Temple Sinai’s Cohon Memorial Lecture-“Prophetic Power & Politics: How Reform Jews Can Bring Healing & Justice to Our World.”

October 30, 2015 Brookline

Rabbi Jonah Pesner, the Director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, will deliver this year’s Annual Cohon Memorial Lecture. He will speak on the topic, “Prophetic Power & Politics: How Reform Jews Can Bring Healing & Justice to Our World.” Rabbi Pesner, named one of the most influential rabbis in America by Newsweek magazine, has been an inspirational leader and tireless advocate for social justice. He previously served as the Senior Vice President of the Union for Reform Judaism, was the founder of “Just Congregations,” the Reform movement’s synagogue-based community organizing initiative, and was Associate Rabbi of Temple Israel of Boston. The annual Beryl D. Cohon Memorial Lecture is held in memory of the late Rabbi Beryl D. Cohon, Temple Sinai’s founding rabbi, who served the congregation until his retirement in 1964. We welcome all to join us at our October 30 service.
