Join us for our monthly Kabbalat Shabbat celebration at the historic Vilna Shul featuring a challah tasting with the owners of Blacker’s Bakeshop in Newton!

New faces are always welcome at Havurah on the Hill, so bring your friends.

8:45 PM Kosher Buffet Shabbat Dinner featuring desserts from Blacker’s Bakeshop!
This month’s meal will be vegetarian. As always, gluten free options available.

Getting to the Vilna Shul:
Free validated parking is always available for Havurah on the Hill’s monthly Shabbat celebrations at the Charles River Garage (165 Cambridge Street, Boston). Please note that this is NOT the above-ground Whole Foods lot, but the parking garage between the Whole Foods lot and the Au Bon Pain. Please bring your green ticket into the Vilna for a validation stamp. The Vilna Shul is also easily accessible by public transportation. Take the MBTA Red Line to Charles/MGH. About Richard and Karen Blacker:
Husband and wife Karen and Richard Blacker, are 30 year veterans in the food service business. Growing up in Newton, Richard worked at Blacker’s Bros., a specialty fruit store owned by his father and a beloved staple in Newton Center that opened in the 1960’s. From 1985 to 2005 Richard and Karen owned a wholesale cookie business. Blacker’s Bakeshop has been newest endeavor in the food industry, opening in 2008. Now, 8 years later, they have moved the bakery a block down to a newer, and larger shop!

About Havurah on the Hill:
Havurah on the Hill is a non-denominational, egalitarian minyan for Jews in their 20s and 30s in the Boston area. HOH meets at the Vilna Shul in Beacon Hill, the last remaining immigrant-era synagogue building in downtown Boston and hosts monthly Kabbalat Shabbat services as well as other special holiday celebrations throughout the year.
