Shmita is the Sabbatical Year, and starts this Rosh Hashanah 2014/5775. Shmita teaches us the value of sharing skills and resources within our community. Embodying a Shmita economy of communal sharing, we will hold workshops around Jamaica Plain, then gather at Nehar Shalom for a Lag B’Omer celebration.

Join us for a not-to-be-missed day of learning and sharing skills.  In the spirit of Shmita and a sharing economy, members of our community are leading wonderful, free workshops around Jamaica Plain (exact locations will be sent to registrants the week before).  The day will culminate in a celebration at Nehar Shalom.

The first session (3-4 pm) offers the following workshops:

Hands on Gardening

Garden to Table: Planning Your Garden & Maximizing Your Produce

Flower Essence Magic

The 2nd session (4:15 – 5:15) offers the following workshops:

DIY Emergency Room

Make Your Own Herbal Medicine: Digestive Bitters
