The Temple Shalom Garden Club of West Newton presents a lecture by Rebecca Warner: “The Sustainable-Enough Garden.”

Rebecca Warner, author, Garden Club member and Newton gardener, will share her practical experiences in trying to become an environmentally responsible home gardener.

A $5 donation is requested of non-members to help defray our program costs.

The Temple Shalom Garden Club of West Newton was founded in 1957 with 10 members. The club joined the Garden Club Federation in 1959.

Our mission is to promote the knowledge and skills of floral design, horticulture and gardening while serving our community and supporting Temple Shalom in their floral and gardening requests.

Membership is open to both temple members and non-members, to Newton residents and non-residents. Dues are presently set at $45 per year with our membership year beginning each September with a get re-acquainted potluck dinner to discuss our annual plans and programs.

We meet monthly on Monday evenings from September through June except during February which we hold as a January snow date, typically at the Temple, but occasionally at private homes or venues of floral design or horticulture. For more information, contact Co-President Susan Lunin at suzylunin@gmail.com.
