This year’s Simchat Torah at Young Israel of Brookline will be remembered for generations, thanks to the Maimonides School seniors.

Members of the Class of 2011 gathered for the three-day holiday-Shabbat combination and infused the synagogue community with energy and ruach. “We made sure that the whole shul was on its feet singing and dancing throughout all of the hakafot,” senior Dalya Lerner reported. “Many members of the Brookline community praised the senior class and told them that this Simchat Torah was the best they had ever experienced, and that they were ‘highly impressed by the Maimonides seniors’.”

Class members also delivered divrei Torah and led zmirot during meals. Betzalel Kosowsky-Sachs worked with Rabbi Gershon Gewirtz, mara d’atra, and Avi Goldberg, shul president, to organize the activities.
