Israel is a feast for the senses.
From the scents and savory flavors of Israel's extraordinary cuisine to the stunning and diverse scenery of its mountains, coast and desert, it's no exaggeration to say that Israel can put a body on sensory overload.
Not that that's a bad thing!
In fact, it's a really good thing, particularly if you happen to be a lover of world music, for Israel is both hotbed and hodgepodge of musical influences. From Idan Raichl's fusion to Boaz Sharaby's evocative ballads, from Yehuda Poliker's bazouki and driving guitar to the wondrous soul of Rita, Israel's music scene is, like so much about the country, relentlessly engaging.
Boston area aficionados of Israeli music, however, have something else to celebrate, in addition to (but also in connection with) the launch of nonstop service between Boston and Tel Aviv on EL AL, which begins on June 28. And that is the appearance in Boston, on June 29, 2015 of the iconic singer/songwriter Shlomi Shabat.
Shlomi Shabat's soulfoul songs, infectious beats and deep lyrics will be on full display this Monday evening, June 29, 2015 at 8:00 p.m. at John Hancock Hall, 180 Berkeley Street, Boston. You won't want to miss it.
