A school without kids is a like camp without kids- no fun at all.
Luckily, a summer of quiet hallways emphatically ended yesterday at Prozdor and Makor, as over five hundred students took over the Hebrew College campus and filled the building with beginning-of-the-year enthusiasm and excitement.
It’s a new year and a new look for Prozdor and Makor. We kicked off the year with a Shabbaton at Camp Yavneh last weekend, bringing seventy people up to the woods for a gorgeous late-summer weekend of prayer, programming, and friend-making, and began classes this past week in both Lexington and our Hebrew College campus. With new teachers, new faculty members, over one hundred new students, and a totally redesigned website, a new year of endless possibilities has opened in style.
On Sunday we proudly rolled out our Machon classes, designed to be more rigorous and to engage students who are interested in academically-rigorous classes. Over forty students opted into this special learning track and we plan on increasing our number of Machon offerings in the spring. We also rolled out our new 8th and 10th grade core curricula and welcomed students from our fifth Makor site, Congregation Kehillath Israel. We also were thrilled to have our 12th grade Moreshet students back for another year of leadership training and learning, and to showcase some of the new technology we’ve been procuring, particularly the proliferation of netbook and LCD projector use that was evident in our classrooms.
The process of ideation and innovation is ongoing, and we’re firing on all cylinders as we continue to update and improve our product. Please be in touch with us for more information or to explore opportunities for partnership or collaboration.
