Transitions to Work

A Program of Jewish Vocational Service

Combined Jewish Philanthropies, the Ruderman Family Foundation and Jewish Vocational Service are working in partnership to provide the Transitions to Work program.

Transitions is an employer-based program that focuses on creating new employment opportunities for young adults with a disability. The program provides classroom instruction and skills training to prepare students for work and assists them in obtaining employment upon completion of the program.

Transitions to Work serves Jewish individuals with a disability between the ages of 18 to 35 who have completed high school, can travel independently and can work up to 20 hours per week.

Your Support

Transitions to Work relies on community donations to fund its programs and services. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

This year, JVS expects the nation’s financial crisis and recession to bring even greater numbers of people into our offices and classes, as many face unemployment and others struggle to keep their fragile hold in the economy. As always, we will help them get back on their feet and gain the skills needed to find a job or take steps to get a better job. Please contribute JVS and help us begin to change the equation for more of our residents who are working harder just to stay in place.
