Gateways: Access to Jewish Education
Gateways believes every Jewish child deserves a Jewish education. By enabling students with special needs to access Jewish learning, we offer families the opportunity to become fully engaged in the Jewish community. Gateways currently provides services to children in a variety of settings. Through its Jewish Day School Programs, Gateways works with students and educators in most of the Jewish day schools in Greater Boston by providing support services, resources, ongoing coaching and professional development. The supplemental Gateways Jewish Education Programs provide a Jewish education to children, ages 3-17, with moderate to severe disabilities, in a Sunday school Program, B'nei Mitzvah program and teen Mitzvah Mensches youth group. Gateways also consults with community and congregational preschool and Hebrew schools to coordinate the needs of children with educational challenges in more than 20 communities.
