New Center NOW
A Program of New Center for Arts and Culture
New Center NOW explores the Jewish imagination through interaction.
Through the shared experience of cooking classes and concerts, artistic conversations and readings, meetings with film producers and online conversations, NOW aims to inspire dialogue, and welcome participants from all backgrounds to enjoy a meaningful, relevant, and dynamic Jewish cultural experience.
From our large celebrations like Beyond Bubbie’s Kitchen, to salons like God Walks Into a Bar with Daily Show writer David Javerbaum to interactive smaller scale programs within our Circles, we create opportunities to explore the best of Jewish arts and culture.
New Center NOW is the only organization in Boston solely dedicated to Jewishly inspired arts and culture for young adults (24-39). Created in line with studies that have shown that arts and culture are a key tool for reaching young adults, the unique, creative, and “edutainment” based NOW programs speak to young adults in a way that is meaningful to them in connection to other aspects of their lives. We are all busy with work, family, hobbies, etc, and NOW aims to enrich our lives further through programs that allow young adults to Explore the Jewish Imagination in ways that are meaningful to us.
In addition to our popular large scale annual cooking extravaganza, Beyond Bubbie’s Kitchen, NOW Circles are forums for smaller groups to have more in- depth opportunities to connect with each other, unique teachers/chefs/artists, and to learn about lesser known aspects of the Jewish cultural tradition. Come with a friend - or come to meet new people - we welcome anyone who wants to delve into the arts infused with rich Jewish culture.
