In recognition of her tremendous achievements, Sara Hefez has been promoted to Jewish National Fund’s (JNF) Executive Director for New England & the Capital Region. Sara has been with JNF for 11 years and as her responsibilities grow, so do her successes.

JNF CEO Russell Robinson applauds her accomplishments. “Sara proves that you can grow up in a family and take over the family business. She came to JNF as a Campaign Associate and has blossomed and matured into one of our top Directors in United States. Her passion for Israel, for the strength in the future of the Jewish people, is intertwined with her family, her work with her lay leadership and her commitment for a Kalal Yisrael.”

To say Sara cares about her work is an understatement. “JNF is all about vision; about purpose,” she shared. “Each and every day, as members of our JNF family, we make a huge impact for the land and people of Israel. I’ve had the honor and privilege to represent JNF on the ground in Israel.  We are heroes. We are part of a movement that is greater than us, fulfilling our mission to touch the lives of every single resident of Israel. No other organization makes a bigger difference.” And that is what she enjoys most about her work, the personal differences she and her team are making.

Sara proudly states that she is surrounded by very passionate people, including top level lay leaders from the Boston community who serve on JNF’s Board of Directors. These individuals choose, during their busy schedules, to give their time, their connections, and their generous donations for JNF, and are inspiring to work with.

This year, Sara was honored with the coveted Combined Jewish Philanthropies Chai in the Hub Award, which is given to innovators, artists, activists, and leaders in Boston’s young Jewish community. In addition to her JNF family, she is a proud wife and mom. When Sara isn’t raising much needed funds for Israel, she can be found on the soccer field and baseball diamond, cheering for her son from the sidelines.
