Friday night at Kibbutz Hanaton was a once in a lifetime experience. In the spirit of the only pluralistic kibbutz in Israel, our delegation had the choice of attending different minyanim for kabbalat shabbat. This was a unique experience to many of us, especially those who have never attended friday night services before. After dinner, the two delegations got to know each other on deeper levels trough fun ice breaking activites such as “speed dating” and the telling of funny stories.

Shabbat in a Kibbutz!Shabbat in a Kibbutz!

For the early birds amongst us, Saturday morning a member of the Hanaton Kibbutz led us on a very nice trail to Tel HanatonShabbat in a Kibbutz!Shabbat in a Kibbutz! On a whim we decided to be adventurous and take a different route back and fate brought us a new friend together. Turtle Leonardo, who was a little shy at first, eventually came out of his shell to wish us good luck on the rest of the journey. Shabbat in a Kibbutz! The weather was beautiful, hot but with a cool breeze, and we were able finish shabbat by sitting outside on the grass. After a relaxing shabbat we packed up, headed backed to the youth hostel in Haifa, and are excited for a jam-packed exciting day tomorrow
