This past Friday members of Moishe Kavod House, Havurat Shalom, and the greater Boston Jewish community gathered at a special Shabbat service to celebrate Jewish Disabilities Awareness Month. The inclusion themed Shabbat focused on the strides our community has made to become more open and welcoming, as well as the work that’s still left to be done in order to make the Jewish community accessible to people of all abilities. Moishe Kavod and Havurat Shalom are both dedicated to inclusion and every month the organizations throw joint Shabbat services at the Hav’s Somerville location, which is fully wheelchair accessible. For more information on these wonderful organizations, click here for the Hav’s accessibility info and here for Moishe Kavod’s.
