Are you a post-bar/bat mitzvah teen looking for an exciting way to volunteer in the downtown Jewish community? Become a Madrich/Madrichah – a leader!
Beginning in the month of September, accepted student leaders will assist teachers and students of the Boston Synagogue’s Sunday Hebrew School and participate in a six-week workshop with our Rabbinic Intern from Hebrew College. Students can log Madrichim hours as community service hours for college transcripts!
The Boston Synagogue’s Madrichim program helps teens to build their skills in communication, collaboration, leadership, problem solving, flexibility and creative thinking to prepare for both academic & employment opportunities. Being a Madrich/Madrichah prepares teens for jobs such as babysitting, being a camp counselor, teaching/tutoring, coaching, mentoring and more. Being a Madrich/Madrichah is a fun, interactive community service opportunity and a unique resume builder.
Applications for the Boston Synagogue’s Madrichim program are due by August 15, 2012 – only four students will be accepted.
