created at: 2013-06-24We asked for your best summer dates, and you responded! (A few of you, anyway.) Here are the submissions for JewishBoston.com’s hot summer date contest.

Please vote for your favorite below by Friday, July 12, and check back the following week to see who will be taking home the $100 prize!

Date 1
“I’ve had a couple standout dates: 1) A picnic and a Boston Light Tour through the Boston Harbor Islands and 2) Brunch at Toast Restaurant in Hull, followed by a walk on Nantasket Beach (this was actually my first date with my husband and remains the best ever!).”
—Yael

Date 2
“It was 1958 and I was babysitting when I met the man who has been my husband for 50 years. We dated for many years in Boston—we went to the theater and saw ‘My Fair Lady’ and ate at Union Oyster House; we sat at local beaches and noshed on all types of summer foods; we went to fairs and parks; and we walked to the movies in Mattapan and then to Simco’s on the Bridge. It was a wonderful romance that has led to a nice marriage and now retirement!”
— Sheila

Date 3
Commonwealth Shakespeare Company’s free Shakespeare on Boston Common is one of Boston’s beloved traditions and is a wonderful summer date. Couples can enjoy a picnic in the heart of the city and then experience theater under the stars.”
—Joanne

Date 4
“Last summer my husband and I were in limbo to the extreme. We were living with my mom, her boyfriend and our almost 2-year-old as we were waiting on an offer to be accepted on our first home. Date nights were pretty much non-existent! Summer arrived and Grandma offered to babysit, so we headed out for a date night at the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular Preview on July 3 (the dress rehearsal for the Fourth of July event). It’s a great night out—the crowds are thinner but the show is the same. We found a spot on the Charles River Esplanade and enjoyed being together. If you go, get there early, pack a picnic with your favorite foods, and bring bug spray and a blanket for lounging.”

Although the date contest is over, we still want to hear any sex/dating/relationship experiences or reflections you want to share. There are lots of ways to be involved, so just get in touch!
