The gavel is being passed on at Jewish National Fund’s (JNF) Boston Board, as Steve London assumes the position of president, a leadership role which was held by Jeffrey Woolf for the past two years. London, a resident of Newton, MA, and a partner in the law firm Pepper Hamilton, LLP, will assumed his new role at the beginning of the 2018 fiscal year on October 1, 2017.

During his time as president, Woolf’s accomplishments were numerous, including the largest fundraising year on record, instituting a Board of Trustees, hosting two Major Donor Thank You events, and doubling the size of the Lawyers for Israel. “Israel and JNF are my passion,” said Woolf. “I am a strong believer in taking your passion and turning it into reality.”

“It has been a wonderful two years working closely with Jeffrey to strengthen JNF’s presence in New England,” said JNF New England Executive Director Sara Hefez. “I have no doubt that, as his predecessors, Jeffrey will continue being involved with JNF.”

London has a 30-year history of involvement with JNF, which began during a Tree of Life™ Dinner in 1987. Not only does he bring institutional knowledge to the position, but he also has the passion and commitment to elevate JNF’s role in the community.

“I am doing this now because more than ever I feel a strong connection to Israel and am empowered to do something with a positive impact on the future of Israel, to be a part of the story, and to make a real difference in the quality of life in Israel now and for future generations,” said London. “I want to help implement JNF’s vision and mission. I want to continue my family’s passion and commitment to the State of Israel. I am proud to carry this torch!”

London articulated his vision and priorities for his tenure as board president. He hopes to increase donor involvement in JNF and exceed annual campaign goals; enlarge the New England Board of Trustees with community leaders who value the importance of the JNF mission; continue to enhance the visibility and prominence of the JNF as a model charitable organization; run successful programs that support the JNF projects in Israel.

“We are so grateful to Jeffrey for everything he has done and will continue to do; for his passion and his leadership. We look forward to setting new goals and surpassing all of our expectations with Steve in the coming years,” said Hefez.
