In a few weeks, the Makor program of Prozdor and Hebrew College will kick off its fourth year.  Now with five partner sites (Kehillath Israel in Brookline came on board this year), Makor is redefining adolescent Jewish Education and bringing it into the 21st century.  Our model of educating 6th and 7th graders in a communal, pluralistic supplementary school setting continues to break new ground and we are looking forward to another banner year for the program.

To lead that innovation we are very proud to announce the appointment of Seth Wax as the Director of Makor.  Seth, a fourth-year Rabbinical student at Hebrew College, has a long history of work with Jewish youth, curriculum development, and teaching that will serve him well as he steps into this role.

A native of Sharon and former president of New England Region USY, Seth attended Columbia for his undergraduate studies and received a master’s degree from the Harvard Divinity School prior to his Rabbinic training.  He has studied meditation and written about spirituality, in addition to his work at Project Zero at Harvard.  From 2004-2010, Seth was also on the faculty of Prozdor, teaching core and electives at the Hebrew College campus, in Lexington, and in Worcester.

Seth will be serving as the Director of Makor within the context of his official Rabbinic internship.  Seth will be in charge of all of the Makor sites and curriculum, regularly liaise with clergy, lay leaders, and teachers, be a member of the Prozdor administrative team, and bring his wealth of knowledge and expertise in teaching, pedagogy, and Jewish content to this position.

Please join us in officially welcoming Seth to his new leadership role at Prozdor and Makor.
