Brandeis University President Fred Lawrence has been blogging about his current trip to Israel, and this week he has posted two entries about his time in Haifa. Both are very well written and serve as a testament not only to the extraordinarily strong ties between Boston and Haifa, but also to his leadership and commitmentto explore new and exciting partnership opportunities for Brandeis.

Ruth Kaplan, Director of the Boston-Haifa Connection, has been actively engaged in strategizing with Brandeis leadership concerning ways to attract Israeli students to apply for study at Brandeis.  As part of this effort, meetings were set up this past spring with some of the Hatikvah Mission IDF officers as well as with the delegation of visiting Local Government School Superintendents.  These groups presented President Lawrence with invaluable feedback about the potential for creating successful alliances with Israeli students.

Below are the links to President Lawrence’s two entries about Haifa – and I would encourage you to read his other posts from the trip as weell.
