In addition to being Hispanic Heritage Month, May is also Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and is a celebration of the culture, traditions, and history of Asian Americans in the United States.

One in ten students in Metro Boston identify as Asian or Pacific Islander and represent countries such as ChinaJapanKorea, the Philippines and Samoa, as well as IndiaPakistanBangladeshSri LankaNepal, Sikkim and BhutanTaiwanVietnamLaosCambodia, FijiGuam, and the Northern Marianas.
