At JewishBoston.com, we talk a lot about food, particularly around the holidays. With Rosh Hashanah quickly approaching, our talk has turned to apples—and dessert. We wanted to find the perfect dish to share with you—something festive, delicious and easy.

We turned to Linda Amir of Amour Creations, known for the T’ART mix she makes and sells locally (and previously featured in our Four Questions column). She invited us into her Brookline kitchen to show us how to bake her signature dish with sautéed apples and raisins for Rosh Hashanah. Her tart mix is pretty genius—just add butter, eggs and your favorite fresh or frozen fruit (or veggies and other mix-ins to make it savory instead). The result is a crust-less fruit pie with a cake-like texture that makes a lovely addition to any meal, holiday or not. (We can personally attest to its deliciousness.)

To give you a fun, step-by-step tutorial, we captured our baking session on video below. Let us know what you think, and if you decide to make your own apple tart for the holiday! For more information about Amour Creations and where to buy T’ART mix, please visit amourcreations.net.
