The Run/Walk for Healing is a wonderful, fun way for everyone, regardless of race, religion or nationality to support healing around the world. It will start and end at Pinkerton Academy, with music, food and dancing to follow.

There will be a 5K run or a 3K walk for the non-runners and encourages people to come and celebrate Israel even if they cannot run or walk.

NH4Israel and Etz Hayim Synagogue member Linda McGrath is a new “couch to 5K” runner and is the driving force behind this event. She says “The 5K events are so much fun because it’s like a wedding, everyone has something exciting in common, there is great camaraderie – and of course I love the feeling of accomplishment at the finish line!”

The event will raise funds to purchase ACCUVEIN, a lifesaving vein viewing system for Hadassah Medical Center and relief teams. ACCUVEIN is the most accurate, fastest and smallest of similar devices, able to fit into a pocket. In almost any emergency, venous access is essential but sometimes very difficult, especially in trauma cases with loss of blood and collapsed veins.

Israeli NH4Israel member Sonia Campeanu has been raising money for this device for a couple of years based on a personal relationship with the hospital, so it naturally became the purpose of the race.

Registration includes a free tee shirt for those who sign up early.
