An Evening of Workshops for Parents of Toddlers and Preschoolers

Workshop attendees will have the opportunity to choose attend two sessions.1. Relating to Your Child: Setting the Path for Life Long Communication  7pm This presentation will help parents of preschool children set the stage for developing and/or enhancing healthy attachment through parental attunement. Parents will learn concrete skills for building and enhancing communication with their children, such as labeled praise, reflection, behavioral descriptions, as well as how to give directions that children understand and can easily follow.
2. Movers and Shakers 7pm  Have you ever noticed that your child can either sit still OR listen, but rarely do both at the same time? In this workshop, we will explore how incorporating engaging movement activities into everyday routines can proactively reduce power struggles and other challenging behaviors.
 3. The Secret World of Kindergarten: Readiness in a competitive culture8pm Starting kindergarten is a big step for children. They will meet new people, spend time in a new classroom and learn new routines. This workshop will focus on identifying readiness skills as well as ways to give your child a lifelong love of learning!  
 4.Alternative Ways For Speaking To and With Children 8pm   Meryl will share “quick fix” suggestions that promote win-win solutions to challenging situations. Each participant will go home better prepared to meet the next challenging situation that is sure to arise.

Program cost is $10 per attendee and open to all parents of toddlers and preschoolers in the surrounding communities.  More information and registration available at:
