The AVI CHAI Foundation and the Schusterman Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis University Invite You to an Educators Conference
Day School Teachers and Leaders: Join us for a two-day conference examining the growing phenomenon of anti-Jewish politics on North American college campuses. We will explore the nature of these trends to delegitimize the State of Israel and the sensibilities behind them. Conference breakout sessions will help you prepare your students for this new reality on campus and beyond.
Preference given to teams of administrators and educators (2-4 individuals from each school).
Register online by September 12, 2016.
Travel and hotel accommodations covered. Kosher meals and refreshments provided.
The purpose of this conference is:
- To help educators understand what their graduates are likely to experience on campus. High school graduates are increasingly likely to confront expressions of hatred and hostility toward Jews and supporters of Israel on college campuses in America and Canada.
- To cultivate an environment for educators to share best practices for teaching about Israel hatred when it devolves into a form of anti-Semitism. Educators will have an opportunity to engage with their colleagues to discuss pedagogical practices, curriculum ideas, and multiple lenses through which to examine, explore and transmit this content to day school students.
- To identify, together, the tools, materials, instructional practices and activities needed to effectively prepare their students for contemporary life on campus and beyond.
