Temple Emanu-El in Haverhill is pleased to announce that bestselling author Jessica Shattuck will speak about her latest novel, “The Women in the Castle.”

Winner of the 2017 New England Book Award for Fiction, “The Women in the Castle” is set at the end of World War II and examines the aftermath of war and the rebuilding of lives through the story of three widows—wives of resisters killed in a failed assassination attempt on Hitler—whose lives and fates become intertwined.

Copies of “The Women in the Castle” will be available for purchase and signing following the program. A continental breakfast will be served at 9:30 a.m., followed by the presentation at 10 a.m.

To help us plan, RSVP by contacting the temple office at Nancy@TempleEmanu-El.org or 978-373-3861. Walk-ins will also be welcome.

Temple Emanu-El would like to thank its patrons, Cowan Insurance Agency, Stuart Mandell (in memory of his beloved wife, Ada), and Smith Motors Company of Haverhill, and its sponsors, H. L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes and Pentucket Bank, for their generous support of its 2019 Author Series.
