Author to discuss issues affecting parents with children on the autism spectrum

Author Brenda Dater will discuss her book Parenting without Panic: A Pocket Support Group for Parents of Children and Teens on the Autism Spectrum at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street) in Newton on Thursday, November 13 at 7:30pm.

In her book, Dater draws on her experience as a support group leader and parent of a child on the spectrum to offer advice to parents on a wide range of related parenting issues.

Dater is the Director of Child and Teen Services at the Asperger/Autism Network (AANE) where she teaches workshops, facilitates support groups and provides consultations for parents, grandparents and professionals. Erika Drezner, Coordinator of Child and Teen Services at AANE, will lead the conversation.
