Combatants for Peace—the only organization worldwide in which former fighters on both sides of an active conflict have laid down their weapons, choosing to work together for peace and justice—is coming to speak in Newton.

They will be telling their personal stories of transformation from violence to nonviolence and sharing the work they are doing to end the occupation and bring peace to their homeland. We will have two speakers: one Israeli and one Palestinian, and also will be screening a short clip of their recent, award-winning documentary “Disturbing the Peace.”

This is the first event in the J Street Boston 2019 Film and Lecture Series, which includes a screening of the film “Ben Gurion: Epilogue” in March and a conversation with Peter Beinart in May.
