Davenology: Discovering the magic and mystery of davening (Class 2)

February 4, 2015 Boston $0.00 - $36.00

Taught by Rabbinic Intern Aliza Berger

Wednesday January 28, February 4, February 11 and February 25, 8:00 – 9:00 pm

Reb Zalman, may his memory be a blessing, taught the art of davenology as a way of coming into relationship with God that is rooted in praying from the heart. Drawing on “spiritual technologies” that our tradition provides, we can open gates of insight and possibility, bringing us nearer to God and ourselves. In this series, we will explore these spiritual technologies as they emerge through Shabbos prayer. We will explore the meaning of the prayers, how energy moves through them and can touch us during a service, and learn some of the practical skills and choreography of traditional davening. This class is open to everyone, accommodating all backgrounds in Hebrew and general Jewish knowledge. Drawing from each other’s insights, we will explore and learn together!
