For so many of us, the past four-plus years have been a time of tumult, challenge and chaos. We’ve experienced rage and frustration, and moments of hope and solidarity. In all of this, we’ve come to learn more about who we are and who we want to be, as individuals and as a nation.

Inauguration Day will mark a shift in our country as a new administration assumes power. But the day should not only mark a shift in leadership. We can use the transition to recommit ourselves to the work that is ahead—to mark a change within us.

On the evening of Jan. 19, join us on Zoom for a short transition ritual to help us mark this moment in a reflective way. We will be using the teachings and wisdom of the Jewish water-based ritual of mikveh adapted for a communal hand-washing experience.

Participants should bring paper and pen, a large bowl, a cup full of water and a hand towel. Register for Zoom link.

This event is a collaboration of GatherDC, Micah Storefront Project, and Asiyah.
