Exploring Judaism introduces the fundamentals of Jewish thought and practice in a year-long sixteen session course. It is a great opportunity to catch up on your Jewish education, refresh your knowledge, or bridge gaps in your exploration of Jewish themes.

The class will cover various topics including Jewish holidays and life cycle events, theology and prayer, worship and spirituality. We will look at the Jewish calendar, the concept of repentance, personal responsibility, and Tikkun Olam. We will survey Jewish history, and do learning on Israel and Zionism.

Is this class for me? Let’s see: perhaps you want to learn more about your Jewish roots, or your partner is Jewish and you want to learn about his or her tradition. Maybe you are seeking conversion to Judaism, or maybe you’re Jewish but never really learned about the culture or religion. Maybe you didn’t have a Jewish education, or maybe you had one and didn’t appreciate it at the time. Or perhaps your adult child is helping to raise grandchildren in the Jewish tradition. Maybe you want to create a fuller and richer Jewish family life. Or maybe, for whatever reason, you’re just curious!

If you’re ready for this fascinating, beautiful, and profound exploration, please come join us!

This class requires obtaining two textbooks. All other reading materials will be supplied.
