THE GOLDEN AGES IN JEWISH HISTORY: LECTURE AND DISCUSSION SERIES AT TEMPLE SHALOM IN MEDFORD 
 Temple Shalom will host a lecture by Mostafa Hussein, doctoral candidate in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University.  He will be speaking on the period of time in Jewish history known as the Golden Ages or Turha-Zahav.  The talk will cover Jewish intellectual, social and literary achievements during the period that spanned from CA 850-1250.
Mostafa Hussein is an alumnus of Al-Azhar University in Cairo.  His research interests include: Islamic studies, Jews in the Islamic world, Jewish-Muslim relations, and modern Middle Eastern studies.
This talk is the first in a series of adult education lectures at Temple Shalom where guest speakers will talk about the times in Jewish history when Jews were not victims but flourished. Each lecture will also give a little insight into what happened between the Bible and the Holocaust.
Desserts and Refreshments will be served following the lecture.  Admission is Free to all.  Please join us.
