Join us for Hadar Boston’s official launch with a High Holiday lecture with Rabbi Shai Held: “Teshuvah and Transformation: Why They’re So Important and So Hard.”

For many of us, the High Holidays elicit ambivalence: The excitement we feel towards new possibilities for ourselves and the broader world is tempered by anxiety that our past attempts to change haven’t been successful. In this session, we will explore voices from the Jewish tradition that discuss why teshuvah is both so critically and urgently important but also so profoundly difficult. As we move through history, from Talmud, through the Musar movement, and onto contemporary Jewish thought, we will aim to bring to this new year a sense of resolve and deepened hope.

Join us for an evening of meaningful Elul Torah and a celebratory reception as we launch Hadar Boston and get to know our new director of Hadar Boston, Rabbi Elie Lehmann.
