With the Jewish holiday of Purim around the corner, join us on Zoom for an interactive baking class to make the traditional holiday cookie from a pro, Rachel Sundet from Mamaleh’s Delicatessen. Purchase a hamantaschen-making kit from Mamaleh’s directly (delivery to the Marblehead JCC and Temple Emanuel Andover a few days prior) or provide your own ingredients (butter, sugar, powdered sugar, eggs, flour, salt and a jelly filling).

The following tools are useful in this workshop:

  • Stand mixer with paddle attachment (preferable, but not required; if not using one, you’ll need a medium mixing bowl and wooden spoon)
  • Rolling pin
  • Roughly 3-inch round cookie cutter (can use a drinking glass too if you don’t have a cutter)
  • Teaspoon
  • Baking tray
  • Parchment paper

If you have any questions, please email Lynne@LappinFoundation.org.

This program is made possible through a collaboration with Epstein Hillel School, Lappin Foundation, PJ Library of the North Shore, PJ Library of Merrimack Valley and PRIZMAH. In partnership with Temple Emanuel Andover, Temple Ner Tamid, Congregation Shirat Hayam of Swampscott, Congregation Shalom of Chelmsford, Merrimack Valley Jewish Federation and Temple Tiferet Shalom.
