“For the dead and for the living, we must hear testimony.”
—Elie Wiesel

Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP), in partnership with Brave Together, invites you to commemorate Yom HaShoah/Holocaust Remembrance Day. Join with our sister city of Haifa for a special ceremony via Zoom videoconference.

Brave Together is an Israeli project that aims to transfer the memory of the Holocaust to a new generation by empowering Holocaust survivors and sharing messages of heroism and optimism. Our program will include a testimonial from survivor Esther Ringel, who was 10 years old when the Czech Republic was invaded by the Nazis. She survived the Auschwitz concentration camp.

Zikaron BaSalon (Hebrew for “remembrance in the living room”) is an annual event in Israel that offers a meaningful way to commemorate Yom HaShoah by hosting a Holocaust survivor to share his or her testimonial. As the number of living Holocaust survivors dwindles, these opportunities to preserve their memories and stories are more important than ever. The program will open with remarks from CJP president and CEO Rabbi Marc Baker.
