In the middle of winter, take time to celebrate the New Year for the Trees with activities for children, a bounty of fruits, nuts and blessings, singing and stimulating discussion at this intergenerational program.

We’ll begin with activities and games appropriate for both children and adults, then share fruits and nuts as well as foods made from the seven species of Israel mentioned in the Torah: barley, dates, grapes (including juice, but no wine, please), figs, olives (including olive oil), pomegranates and wheat.

The program will conclude with a brief adult study session. If we’re lucky, we’ll be able to watch the full moon rise.

This event is open to all ages. We invite you to bring fruits, nuts or dishes incorporating these seven species. Extra blessings to anyone who can find a recipe that incorporates all seven!
