Have you ever thought about what goes on behind the kitchen door?

Many of us will actively support food justice issues like grass-fed beef or free-range chickens and choose where/what we eat accordingly— but do we do the same for those serving and preparing the food? Do we care how restaurant’s wages might affect the quality of a worker’s health or living environment?

Please join us to meet Alex Galimberti, an organizer for the Restaurant Opportunities Center (ROC) and a food justice activist.

We will have a lively discussion where you can learn more about the restaurant industry and about ways to get involved in a movement to create a sustainable food industry for all. Consumers can be crucial in affecting change- learn how.

Restaurant Opportunities Centers United is an organization working to improve wages and labor standards for the nation’s 10 million restaurant workers.

Cash bar. Light refreshments provided.

Event Location: Lir
