Shabbat is back! Join us this month for services, dinner and fun when we welcome the talented (and Beantown born!) Isaac Akiba of the Boston Ballet.

Isaac started dancing in Boston Ballet’s Citydance program at age nine and began training at Boston Ballet School in 1998. During this time, he studied under Sydney Leonard, Franco Devita, and Dierdre Miles Burger. Akiba joined Boston Ballet II in 2007, was promoted to Boston Ballet company dancer in 2009, and was promoted to second soloist in 2012.

His Boston Ballet repertoire includes Nissinen’s The Nutcracker; Kudelka’s Cinderella; de Valois’ The Sleeping Beauty; Gielgud’s Giselle (Peasant Pas de Deux); Alosa’s Paquita (Pas de Trios); Clerc’s La Bayadere (Bronze Idol); Cranko’s Romeo & Juliet (Benvolio); Nureyev’s Don Quixote (Lead Gypsy); Lander’s Etudes (Turning Man); Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Puck); Balanchine’s Jewels (Rubies, Diamonds); Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments (Melancholic); Balanchine’s Prodigal Son; Balanchine’s Symphony in 3 Movements (Jumping Couple); Balanchine’s Coppelia; Balanchine’s Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux; Robbins’ Fancy Free; Elo’s The Elo Experience (Slice to Sharp, Plan to B, Double Evil); Elo’s Carmen; Matthews’ Ein Von Viel; Pickett’s Tabula Rasa; Forsythe’s the 2nd detail (Ion).


This event is a great way to get to know other young Jewish adults in Boston!

Free validated parking is available for Havurah on the Hill’s monthly Shabbats. The Vilna Shul is also easily accessible by public transportation. Just take the MBTA Red Line to Charles/MGH. For driving, walking and public transport directions, please visit our website.
