These High Holy Days will be unlike any most of us have experienced in our lifetimes. A pandemic has kept us physically distant and emotionally strained. The world economy is being completely upended in ways we won’t fully comprehend for years to come. Social ferment like we haven’t seen in a generation continues to shake previously solidly held beliefs and institutions. Yet against this backdrop, we get to do this very Jewish thing that happens every year but that seems, this year, more relevant than ever: start over.

This year, Asiyah’s High Holy Days celebrations will be an exploration of this opportunity: celebrating what we have and mourning what we’ve lost; returning to our highest selves and dreaming forward into the world that could be. Won’t you join us in this deeply communal and ultimately personal act?

What to expect

Our services will be held on Zoom, and we’re taking what we’ve learned in the last six months to make that a nourishing experience.

Like any Asiyah service, there will be lots of songful, soulful, musical prayer—led by Rabbi David and our rabbinic intern Genevieve, along with musicians, singers and community voices. There will also be time for movement and for quiet contemplation; time to be in your body and to get outside; time to connect with others in small groups for study and sharing. We’ll also be offering some advanced tools and guides to make your home a sanctuary for our holy time together.

Tickets

This year, we’re offering a donation-based, sliding-scale ticket that’s good for all services. When you register, you’ll be prompted to select which services you plan to attend and offer a donation that makes you feel good.

We are also offering free tickets for registered Asiyah co-creators (members), and an additional limited number of free tickets to make these services accessible to all, regardless of financial resources. Curious about becoming an Asiyah co-creator? Learn more here.
