Kol Nidre, Yom Kippur Morning, Study Session & Evening Shofar Services, Canton, MA

October 3, 2014 Canton $0.00 - $200.00

We welcome you to join Temple Beth David of the South Shore, a Reform congregation, on Yom Kippur: a time for reflection, study, and community.

Our Kol Nidre Service will be held on Friday, October 3rd at 7:30pm. Join Rabbi Emma Gottlieb and Cantorial Soloist Howard Worona, and our Temple Beth David’s L’Dor V’Dor Choir on this evening of prayer and reflection.

Yom Kippur Morning Torah Service will begin at 10:30am, Saturday, October 4th. Childcare & Youth Services available (see below).

Youth Services: Space is available in our Youth Service for school-age children (offered Free for families with High Holiday tickets), held from 10:30am to 11:30am on the morning of Yom Kippur. Please plan to arrive at least 5 minutes before services begin. Your child(ren) must be pre-registered to attend. Please contact Sara Zwicker at ritual@templebethdavid.com.

Childcare: There will be two babysitters for the morning service on Yom Kippur. Fees and rules are the same as Rosh Hashanah. Please check the temple website for the Childcare Registration Form in the High Holiday Packet. Your child(ren) must be pre-registered to attend. If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact Sara Zwicker at ritual@templebethdavid.com.

Special Accommodations: The building is handicap accessible, with a wheelchair ramp and a handicap restroom equipped with a changing table. We need to know in advance if you need space for a wheelchair or baby carriage so that we can make the necessary accommodations, because chairs must be rearranged to avoid blocking the aisles. A quiet and private space is also available for nursing mothers. We have a limited supply of large-print prayer books. The sanctuary has an assistive listening system (hearing loop) with several wireless receivers and earphones available. Please contact Sara Zwicker at ritual@templebethdavid.com for any of these special services.

Gift of Life Bone Marrow Registry Drive: 1:30-4:00PM, Saturday, October 4th, in the Temple Beth David Library. Potential donors will be entered into the Bone Marrow Registry. From the time you join the registry until your 61st birthday, you could be a donor for someone suffering from a life-threatening blood disease, and help save that person’s life. Registration is simple: it requires a cheek swab and completion of a consent form. Potential donors must be between the ages of 18 and 60 in general good health.

Study Session: Beginning at 3:00pm, Saturday, October 4th.

Mincha, Yizkor, & N’ilah Services: Beginning at 4:15pm, Saturday, October 4th. Our concluding Yom Kippur Torah & Shofar Services to follow, ending with Havdalah. Bring your shofar for the T’kiah G’dolah (Grand T’kiah).

A Break-Fast immediately following conclusion of Yom Kippur Services. See our pot-luck sign-up poster in the lobby.

Food Pantry Drive: We welcome all to participate in the High Holiday Food Drive. Envelopes for contributions to Mazon and Family Table, and paper bags for collecting non-perishable, non-expired, sealed food items for delivery to local food pantries will be provided during Rosh Hashanah Services. All donations to this annual event are greatly appreciated!

Tickets are required for all services. Please contact Joni Block at membership@templebethdavid.com.
