SAVE THE DATE for the   L’Chaim Group of Temple Emanuel’s A TASTE of OPERA, with opera singer Heather Gallagher, mezzo soprano, on Tuesday, May 27th, at 1pm in Reisman Hall at Temple Emanuel, 385 Ward Street, Newton Centre. 
   

 Heather Gallagher, mezzo-soprano,is becoming increasingly sought after for her “standout” and “arresting” performances in opera and on the recital stage.  Recent projects include the Boston premiere of Mohammed Fairouz’s Sumeida’s Song (Asakir) and Voyage a Paris (soloist) with Boston Opera Collaborative, Dido and Aeneas (Dido) with Harvard Early Music Society and Benjamin Britten’s Cabaret Songs. Other credits include the title role in Carmen (Metro West Opera),Le nozze di Figaro (Cherubino, Vero Beach Opera) and the much lauded productions of I Puritani, Die fliegende Hollander and Madama Butterfly with Boston Lyric Opera. 

Ms. Gallagher is a proud member of Boston Opera Collaborative and will be engaged as an Emerging Artist with Boston Lyric Opera for the 2014/2015 Season. 

Ms. Gallagher is a recipient of an Encouragement Award from the Licia-Albanese Puccini Foundation (2011), the 2nd Place Award for Metro West Opera’s 2011 Opera Competition and a Two Year Fellowship from the Atlantic Music Festival.

A life long Floridian, Heather Gallagher is a graduate of New World School of the Arts and the University of Florida
