The coronavirus (COVID-19) has triggered an unprecedented wave of changes to day-to-day life here in Greater Boston and around the world. But existing in a state of crisis is nothing new to the Jewish people. History can be our guide during difficult times.

What does the past tell us about how we will emerge from the era of COVID-19? How might Jewish life change after this extended period of radical social distancing and economic turmoil?

Rabbi Marc Baker, president and CEO of CJP, and Dr. Jonathan Sarna, Joseph H. and Belle R. Braun Professor of American Jewish History in the Department of Near Eastern and Judaic Studies, will be the guests for this fascinating conversation touching on past, present and future.

Rabbi Baker and Dr. Sarna will offer unique perspectives from their work; Marc, as the leader of a large Jewish organization in a time of rapid, profound change and critical communal need, and Jonathan, a renowned scholar of Jewish history who is also an active member of the community he studies.

A Q&A will follow.

This event will also be recorded as an episode of The Vibe of the Tribe podcast. You can find it after the event here.
