LEGO lovers of all ages will gather in Chelmsford to turn roughly 60,000 LEGO pieces into a model of the old city of Jerusalem under the leadership of Stephen Schwartz, an architect from New Jersey. Further enriching their experience, participants will take a guided tour and celebrate Havdallah in their Jerusalem. The opportunity to be part of this exciting activity is open to visitors who register in advance. The registration fee for non-members is $10 per person.

Architect Stephen Schwartz developed the LEGO Build project, which brings groups together to make a place of interest come alive for them with LEGOs. Each program uses a detailed drawing 400 square feet in size. Participants lend their problem solving and insights to the model building experience. They are encouraged to build structurally sound, interesting and whimsical models with an architectural character worthy of the history they represent. These creative, exciting, and team-building workshops described at www.buildingblocksworkshops.com have brought memorable, hands-on learning to many communities around the northeast.

The Jerusalem project is centered around historical and geographical points of interest, such as Jaffa Gate, an ancient entry way into the old city; Mount Moriah, the site of the Temple Mount and location of the Western Wall;& David’s Tower, a fortress in ancient days.
The Jerusalem workshop at Congregation Shalom is made possible in part by a generous grant from the Merrimack Valley Jewish Federation. It is open to children, preferably those in grades 2 and above, parents, and grandparents. For more information or to download a registration form, visit www.congregationshalom.org.

Non-members, please mail in the registration form with a check covering $10 per person. Thank you.
