November is Jewish Book Month! This tradition began in 1925 when Fanny Goldstein, a Boston librarian, decided to set up a display of Judaic books at the West End Branch of the Boston Public Library for one week and call it “Jewish Book Week.” The idea quickly caught on, and in 1943 it was extended to a month.

Temple Emunah will be celebrating Jewish Book Month by hosting an event at the Burlington Barnes & Noble on Veterans Day, open to all.

Local author Josh Funk will be joining us at 10:30 a.m. to read and sign his books, and we will have a series of literacy games and activities.

This event also has a mitzvah component—there will be a book drive for the holidays for a local school, and a percentage of everything you purchase will support the Temple Emunah Religious School.
