Mega Challah Bake

March 18, 2015 $20.00 - $25.00

Learn how to make, knead, shape and bake a loaf of challah – a traditional braided bread eaten on the Jewish Shabbat – at Mega Challah Bake on Wednesday, March 18 at 7pm at the Mansfield Holiday Inn (31 Hampshire Street) in Mansfield.

In Jewish tradition, baking challah is considered a mitzvah (good deed), rather than a chore, bringing women closer to Shabbat, family and friends.

Mega Challah Bake is part of an annual program geared for women in the South area. It is sponsored by the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston and co-sponsored by Chabad of Mansfield, Shaloh House Chabad of the South Area and Chabad of Sharon. The event will include a cocktail reception, raffles, and uplifting music and song.

Participants are asked to bring toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, etc.) to the event to donate to New Hope, a South Shore organization dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence.

Mega Challah Bake is a program of the Ryna Greenbaum JCC Center for the Arts and is open to the entire community. Cost is $20 ($25 at the door). Register at MegaChallahBakeSouthArea.com or contact southwomen@jccgb.org or 617-558-6478.
