We are excited to welcome Cantor Jonathan Comisar for an interactive, multimedia weekend of music, worship, film, discussion and learning, beginning with a moving Qabbalat Shabbat featuring Cantor Comisar’s original compositions. This service is mixed presence with the option to participate on-site or online.

This is the first of three events in this year’s Rudolph H. and Sara G. Wyner Lecture Weekend.

Cantor Jonathan Comisar holds a master’s in sacred music from the Hebrew Union College School of Sacred Music and served the Community Synagogue in Rye, New York, with distinction from 2000-08. Cantor Comisar is a highly esteemed and sought after composer of Jewish music, orchestra and musical theater. Cantor Comisar’s essay, “Experiencing God While Composing Music: Listening for the Still, Small Voice,” was recently featured in the book “Because My Soul Longs for You: Integrating Theology into our Lives,” co-edited by Rabbi Elaine Zecher.
