Join with us on an exploration of the Jewish calendar this year. Using Abigail Pogrebin’s “My Jewish Year: 18 Holidays, One Wondering Jew,” we’ll meet (approximately monthly) throughout the year in advance of (or during!) Jewish holidays to find new meaning in the rhythms and wisdom of Jewish tradition.

Those who commit to attending at least nine of the sessions will receive a free copy of Pogrebin’s book.

Schedule:

  • July 13 (Tisha B’Av)
  • Aug. 3 (Elul/Rosh Hashanah)
  • Sept. 14 (Yom Kippur)
  • Sept. 23 (Sukkot & Simchat Torah)
  • Nov. 30 (Chanukah)
  • Jan. 11 (Tu Bishvat)
  • Feb. 22 (Shabbat)
  • March 15 (Ta’anit Esther & Purim)
  • April 12 (Passover)
  • May 3 (Yom HaZikaron & Yom HaAtzmaut)
  • May 31 (Shavuot)

This is a discussion-based class facilitated by Base BSTN online (via Zoom), where video and audio participation are encouraged. You will be invited to share your thoughts and speak from personal experience, with no obligation to do so.

Please note: It’s hard to plan in advance right now due to the shifting COVID-19 reality. For now, we plan to hold all sessions virtually, with an eye to flexibility as we better understand public health protocols and needs of the group.
