CJP and JewishBoston invite you to attend the exclusive world theatrical premiere of “Heading Home: The Tale of Team Israel” the weekend of Dec. 14 at West Newton Cinema.
“Heading Home” tells the unbelievable story of the Jewish-American Major Leaguers who gave Team Israel a Cinderella run at the 2017 World Baseball Classic. It has earned rave reviews and won best documentary awards at the Philadelphia, Washington, Boca Raton and Stamford Jewish film festivals.
“Heading Home” premieres in West Newton to celebrate not only the World Champion Red Sox, but also the life of Ezra Schwartz. He was a student at Maimonides School in Brookline who was killed in a terrorist attack in 2015, and in whose name a baseball field in Israel is dedicated in the film. From Boston, the film moves on to New York, Los Angeles and select cities across the country.
Featured guests for the Q&A and autographs at all Friday, Saturday and Sunday screenings include Team Israel/Oakland As pitcher and Boston resident Jeremy Bleich; filmmakers Seth Kramer, Daniel A. Miller and Jeremy Newberger; and MLB reporter and film star Jonathan Mayo. Also meet Team Israel’s mascot, The Mensch on a Bench!
