                     Purim Celebrations 2019 in Wakefield

The Purim story is told in the Book of Esther, known as the Megillah, celebrating how Esther bravely saved the Jewish people in Persia 2500 years ago.   The holiday has a carnival-like atmosphere with masks and costumes worn to temple. Money and gift baskets are given to the poor, sick, and friends. .

Sunday, March 17th, from 10:30-noon

All are welcome to our kid-focused Purim Party. Enjoy crafts, games, stories, and, of course, hamentaschen and a kid-friendly Megillah reading.

Costumes recommended. Sponsored by Temple Emmanuel of Wakefield and InterfaithFamily/Boston.

Wednesday, 3/20, 7-8pm

All are welcome to join Temple Emmanuel’s annual Family Purim Celebration. We’ll sing Purim songs, read the whole Megillah, and have a contest for those wearing costumes!
