The nigun (or nign) is a wordless melody and spiritual practice introduced into Judaism with the spread of Hasidism in the 18th and early 19th century. Moving far beyond those roots in Central and Eastern Europe to the entire world, the nign gives us a chance to explore not only Jewish history but different ways of communicating between ourselves and God.
