One of our primary responsibilities as Jews is to be guardians of the earth. This sacred obligation is more necessary and urgent than ever. We are all too aware of how imperiled our planet is and how each of us must do something to protect and preserve it.

We therefore hope you’ll join us for our annual Shabbat of Environmental Justice where we will pray, sing and hear from Dr. Atyia Martin, a Boston-area climate and equity activist who was chief resilience officer in the Walsh administration and is currently chairing the city’s Carbon Free Boston Equity Advisory Group.

Dr. Martin will talk about what each of us can do to help mitigate the ravages of climate catastrophe, including fighting racism so that the most vulnerable among us will not continue to experience a vastly disproportionate share of those consequences.

TIkkun Central and the Temple Israel Green Team will be available at the post-service Oneg to talk about their activities and tell you about opportunities to get involved. For further information, please contact Cantor Einhorn at reinhorn@tisrael.org or Joan Rachlin at rachlinj@aol.com.
