Jeff Jacoby, recently named by the Forward newspaper as one of the most influential American Jews, has been an op-ed columnist for the Boston Globe since 1994. He had been a chief editorial writer at the Boston Herald since 1987. A native of Cleveland, Jeff Jacoby graduated with honors from George Washington University in 1979 and from Boston University Law School in 1983. In 1999, Jacoby became the first recipient of the Breindel Prize for excellence in opinion journalism, and in 2004, he received the Thomas Paine Award of the Institute for Justice. In November 2014, he was named one of 50 “American Jews who have had the most impact on our national story.
